ایک دفعہ ایک جگہ بارش کی وجہ سے دریا میں طغیانی آ گئی تو ایک بچھو پانی میں ڈوبنے لگا، وہیں ایک کچھوا بھی تیرتا پھر رہا تھا، بچھو نے اس کچھوے سے التجا کی کہ میری مدد کرو اور مجھے دریا کنارے خشکی پر پہنچا دو۔
کچھوے نے اس بچھو کو اپنے اوپر سوار کر لیا اور پانی کی سطح پر تیرتا ہوا خشکی کی جانب جانے لگا۔ اسی دوران کچھوے کو ہر ایک دو لمحے بعد ٹک ٹک کی آواز آتی، غور کرنے پر پتا چلا کہ بچھو کچھوے کے خول پر بار بار ڈنگ مار رہا تھا۔ کچھوے نے پوچھا، یہ کیا کر رہے ہو؟ بچھو نے کہا، کیا کروں، یہ میری عادت ہے۔
کچھوے کو غصہ آیا کہ بچھو نے اپنے مدد کرنے والے کو ہی ڈنگ مارنا شروع کر دیے؟ یعنی بھلے کا زمانہ ہی نہیں۔ تو جناب، کچھوے نے پانی میں ڈبکیاں لگانی شروع کر دیں، اس کی وجہ سے بچھو کو بھی غوطے آنے لگے۔ اور بچھو نے کچھوے سے بمشکل یہ پوچھا کہ یہ تم کیا کر رہے ہو؟
کچھوے نے جواب دیا، کیا کروں، یہ میری عادت ہے اور میں عادت سے مجبور ہوں۔
اور یوں چند ڈبکیوں کے بعد بچھو غرق ہو گیا۔
یہ حکایت بچھو کی فطرت کا حوالہ دے کر بدفطرت لوگوں سے علحیدہ رہنے کا سبق دیتی ہے۔ کیونکہ جو شخص اپنوں سے وفا نہیں کر سکتا وہ کسی اور سے کیا تعلق نبھائے گا۔
