It is said that once a king built a huge pond in his city and announced throughout the city that every citizen would pour a glass of milk into this pond every day, so that later it could be distributed among the poor and needy.
When night fell, a man said to his family:
“This city is so big and its population is so large that if each person pours a glass of milk, the pond will be filled. In such a situation, if only I do not pour a glass, it will not make any difference and no one will even know.”
Surprisingly, that night every person in the city thought exactly the same and shirk their responsibility.
The next morning when the king reached the pond, he was surprised to see that the pond was completely empty.
Then the king gathered the people of the city and said to the crowded crowd:
“Did you all see? This one negative thought of yours has thwarted such a great goal. If each of you had fulfilled your responsibility as a good deed, this pond would have been full today and the hunger of so many poor people could have been satisfied. Remember, a river is formed only by drops coming together.”
Conclusion: If we all make our thinking positive, this world can become a cradle of peace. If every human being starts improving himself, love for each other will arise in every heart. Everything depends on our thinking, because society is formed from the individual.
