Sheikh Chili was one of the most dreamy people in the village. He would think of something unique day and night, and based on that thought, he would make big plans. The villagers would laugh at his dreams, but Sheikh Chili had complete faith in every dream he had.

One day, he was returning home after buying a sack of flour from the market, loading it on his donkey, and a great idea came to his mind.

“If I sell this flour, I will buy two goats with the money I get from it. Then these goats will have kids. The kids will grow up, give milk, and I will sell the milk and buy a cow. Then from the cow, milk, curd, butter, ghee… Wow, wow! I will become rich!” he was saying to himself.

While he was engrossed in this dream, the donkey suddenly stopped. Sheikh Chili’s eyes opened, and he saw that red flour was flowing from the bottom of the sack. “Hey, what is this?” he shouted.
There were holes on both sides of the sack on the donkey’s back, and the flour was flowing on the ground. But the real surprise was that behind this flowing flour were a few white rats walking in a row, just like joining a procession.
When Sheikh Chili saw that the rats were following after eating his flour, he said angrily, “You naughty rat! Are you eating my flour? Get out of here!”

But the rats did not stop. They kept following the donkey. Then Sheikh Chili picked up a stick and shook it to scare the rats, but it had no effect on the rats.

The leader of the rats was a large white rat with a red thread tied to its tail. He looked at Sheikh Chili and said:
“Sir, we are not ordinary rats, we are cheetah rats. Whatever we like, it becomes ours. Your flour too.”

Sheikh Chili was surprised. “Are these rats talking?”

“Yes sir, we are the mice who research the stupidities of humans, and you have a long list of stupidities. We have seen you for a long time. You dream on dreams, you do not act on anything.”
Sheikh Chili was happy instead of embarrassed. “Oh wow! I mean, I am so famous that even the mice know me?”
The leader of the mice said, “Yes, and now we want to give you some advice.”
The mice took Sheikh Chili to an old deserted hut inside the forest. Inside the hut, there were thousands of lines on the walls, as if someone had been keeping accounts for years.

“This is our place of research. We mice observe the behavior of different humans, collect their mistakes, and then draw conclusions. Your case is special for us.”

Sheikh Chili asked in surprise, “My case?”

“Yes, you plan every task but get lost in a new dream before completing it.”

Sheikh Chili bowed his head. “You are telling the truth.”

“We want to give you a chance. If you follow our guidance, you can succeed.”
Sheikh Chili’s eyes began to sparkle with hope.

“What do you have to do?”
“Every week you will have to give us a report on your actions. Not on your dreams, but on the work you have actually done. If you lie, we will include your donkey in our kingdom.”
Sheikh Chili immediately agreed.
Sheikh Chili decided to grow vegetables in his backyard. He dug the ground, sowed the seeds, and watered them regularly. He would make a written report for each day and put it in a small wooden trough, from where the rats would come and take it.
At the end of the week, the chief rat himself came and said, “Very well! You have worked hard. Next week you have to make a plan to sell these vegetables.”
Sheikh Chili nodded.
Just like that, the months passed. Sheikh Chili sold the vegetables, made a profit from it, and bought a chicken. The chicken produced eggs. The villagers were surprised that Sheikh Chili had changed.
One day, on this journey of success, Sheikh Chili remembered the old days. He was walking in the market when he saw a small gold crown in a goldsmith’s shop. Immediately, his mind was lost in dreams.
“I will also become a king, everyone will salute me, I will have a throne, I will be a courtier…”
He took out all his earnings and bought the crown and, coming home, sat on a donkey and went around the entire village.
“Sheikh Chili is king! Sheikh Chili is king!” he kept shouting and announcing.
The mice watched everything silently.
At night, the chief mouse came and said, “You broke your promise. Today you lost yourself in your dreams and left the path of action. Our agreement is over.”

Sheikh Chili felt very ashamed. He took off the crown and promised that he would not do it again.

The mice thought for a while, then said, “Okay, last chance.”
Time passed. Sheikh Chili learned from his experiences that dreaming is good, but dreams without action are just sandcastles.
He had now become a successful farmer and businessman in the village. The mice still came every week, but now they were not just a watchman but a celebration of Sheikh Chili’s success.
Sheikh Chili finally gave everyone a piece of advice:

“What I learned from the mice was that cunning is useless without intelligence, and dreams without action are just a lie.”
