In a forest, there lived a leopard who was very proud of his speed. He believed that the one who could run fast was the one who deserved the most respect. In the same forest, on an old banyan tree, there lived a pair of pigeons who were very calm and quiet.
One day, the leopard made fun of the pigeon and said: “What kind of life is yours? If there is a slight noise, you flutter and fly away. If only you were brave and fast like me, then you would not need to be afraid of anyone.”
The pigeon smiled and replied: “Brother leopard! Speed is the religion of Allah, but the real thing is the sight that sees the coming danger ahead of time.” The leopard laughed and left from there.
A few days passed, hunters set foot in the forest. They set a very thin but strong wire net to catch the leopard, which was hidden under the dry leaves. The leopard was running in his joy when suddenly his foot got caught in the net and he fell face down. The more he tried, the more the net sank into his body.
The pigeon was watching all this from the tree above. He saw that the hunters were still far away. The pigeon flew down, but he did not try to pull the net like the leopard (because he knew that he was physically weak). He started cutting the knots of the net with his sharp beak where it was weak.
In a short time, the pigeon made a path through which the leopard could get its paw out. As soon as the leopard was free, he thanked the pigeon and bowed his head in shame.
The pigeon flew away and said: “Power is not only in the claws, sometimes a small beak can do what big teeth cannot.” Moral lesson: Do not underestimate anyone: No matter how small someone is, they may have skills that older adults do not have. Teamwork and intelligence: In difficult times, using force impatiently is harmful, while acting with a cool head is savior.
