The old man recited the name of the God contentedly and sat down on the barber’s chair to get his hair cut.
The gentle smile on the old man’s face encouraged the barber to talk. The barber said: “Many religions in the world believe in God, but I do not believe in the existence of God.”
The old man asked: “Why?” Don’t you believe?” The barber said: “There are many problems, troubles, misery, and chaos in the world. If God existed, all these problems and problems would not exist.”
The old man smiled and said: “I also do not believe in the existence of barber in this world. The barber asked in confusion: “What do you mean? I didn’t understand you.” The old man pointed to a man with dirty and long hair passing out of the barber’s shop and said: “What? You see that man’s long and dirty hair? The barber said: “Yes. But what does that have to do with me?”
The old man said gently: “If there were barbers, there would not be people with long and dirty hair.” The barber said: “We exist, but such people do not come to us!” The old man smiled and said: “Of course. God also exists, but people do not turn to God for guidance. That is why there are so many problems and troubles in the world.”
بوڑھے آدمی نے اطمینان سے بسم اللّٰہ پڑھی اور حجام کی کرسی پر بال کٹوانے کے لئے بیٹھ گیا۔ بوڑھے کے چہرے پر موجود نرم مسکراہٹ سے حجام کو بات چیت کا حوصلہ ہوا۔
حجام نے کہا: “دنیا میں بہت سے مذاہب خدا کو مانتے ہیں، لیکن میں خدا کے وجود کو نہیں مانتا۔”مسلمان بوڑھے نے پوچھا: “کیوں نہیں مانتے؟”حجام نے کہا: “دنیا میں بہت پریشانیاں، مصیبتیں بدحالی اور افراتفری ہے۔ اگر خدا کا وجود ہوتا تو یہ سب مصیبتیں اور پریشانیاں بھی موجود نہ ہوتیں۔
“بوڑھے نے مسکراتے ہوئے کہا: “میں بھی اس دنیا میں حجام کے وجود کو نہیں مانتا۔”حجام نے پریشان ہو کر پوچھا: “کیا مطلب؟ میں آپ کی بات نہیں سمجھا.”بوڑھے نے حجام کی دکان سے باہر گزرتے ایک گندے اور لمبے بالوں والے شخص کی طرف اشارہ کر کے کہا: “کیا تم اس شخص کے لمبے اور گندے بال دیکھ رہے ہو؟حجام نے کہا: “جی ہاں۔ لیکن اسکا میری بات سے کیا تعلق؟”بوڑھے نے نرم لہجے میں کہا: “اگر حجام ہوتے تو لمبے اور گندے بالوں والے لوگ بھی نہ ہوتے۔
“حجام نے کہا: “ہم موجود ہیں، لیکن ایسے لوگ ہمارے پاس نہیں آتے!”بوڑھے نے مسکراتے ہوئے کہا: “بالکل۔ خدا بھی موجود ہے لیکن لوگ ہدایت کے لئے خدا کی طرف رجوع نہیں کرتے۔ اسی لیے دنیا میں بہت سے مسائل اور پریشانیاں ہیں۔”
