In a forest, a lion was king.
He entrusted the hunting and water to a fox,
because she was cunning and quick-witted.
At first, the fox was honest,
all the animals drank water on time,
and no one slept hungry.
But gradually
the fox gained control of the water fountain.
The animal that gave a gift,
got more water.
The fox would report to the lion:
โYour Majesty! All the animals are benefiting equally.โ
The lion would believe it.
One day, it was very hot.
The fountain began to dry up.
The weak animals were exhausted from thirst.
A deer gathered courage and went to the lion and told the truth.
When the lion himself went and saw the fountain
then the truth came out.
The lion deposed the fox
and declared:
โIntelligence without honesty is dangerous.โ
Justice was again established in the forest
and everyone got water equally.
Moral:
He who betrays trust,
not only harms others,
but ultimately harms the system as well.
