When Tariq bin Ziyad set out with his army to conquer Spain, he fell asleep and was blessed with a visit from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in a dream. He was accompanied by his companions. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “O Tariq! Stand up with courage, you will achieve what you have been destined for!” Then he saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and his companions entering Andalusia. He woke up in a state of great joy and happiness, because he knew that he had been given good news by the one whom Allah had sent to give good news.
Then he entered Gibraltar with his army, but what did he order them to do? He ordered them to burn their boats and said: “The enemy is in front of us and the sea is behind us. You are fighting and fighting in the way of Allah, and you have only two ways – martyrdom or victory. There is no third way!” Then Allah Almighty granted him the honor of victory. Imagine the power that Allah has placed in the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). Those who see them in their dreams also receive good news and benefit from their blessed visit. So how can we understand how many blessings the Companions received through the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)? They were helped by angels in Jihad. They saw sticks turned into swords. They rode their horses and crossed the sea. After losing their eyesight, they were given their sight again. They saw water boiling from empty wells and drank from the blessed fingers of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
Whether people understand or not — there is no solution to our problems, whether they are related to our own selves, our homes, our communities or the global level — until we re-establish our connection with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Allaah has promised humiliation and punishment to those who abandon His way and oppose Him. He is the only solution to all our problems. He is the door to victory, the path to success, the opener of every closed thing and the dispenser of Allaah’s blessings. He is the greatest teacher, the best leader, the perfect human being, the perfect husband and father, and the bravest warrior to walk this earth. Read the biographies of all the great people who have gone before us — they all became great because of their connection and burning love for Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ).
