There was a time when thugs were very popular in Lucknow. These people did not use force or carry swords, but rather robbed people with their words, cunning and mental games.
One day, a man was going out of the city after buying a small kid goat (lamb) and carrying it on his shoulder. On the way, a group of thugs saw him. They all decided to steal the kid goat from the man.
They made a plan and stood at a little distance to implement it.
The first thug stepped forward and said in surprise, “Brother! Why are you carrying a dog on your shoulder?”
The man laughed and said, “Hey brother! This is not a dog, it is a kid goat.”
The thug smiled and moved forward.
A little further away, he met the second thug. He wrinkled his nose and said, “May Allah bless you! Why do people carry dogs on their shoulders these days?”
Now the man felt a little confused, but he controlled himself and thought, it seems like people are making fun of me.
At some distance, the third thug met
He expressed sympathy and said,
Brother, although this dog may be your pet, it is still not appropriate to carry it on your shoulders like this.
Now the man’s steps stopped.
He looked at the baby goat carefully and wondered if he was really seeing something wrong.
The fourth and fifth thugs also kept repeating the same thing. Finally, the man became completely confused. He thought that so many people were saying the same thing. I must have made a mistake. I bought a dog thinking it was a baby goat 🐐.
Now he was also afraid that when I reach the village and tell the people that I have bought this baby goat
And it is actually a dog, I will have to bear great shame.
With this thought in mind, he took the baby goat off his shoulder and placed it on the road and left, saying, “How dishonest people have become, selling dogs in the name of goats.” As soon as the man moved forward, the thugs immediately picked up the baby goat and happily disappeared. Lesson: If a lie is repeated in many languages, many people start believing it to be true. That is why it is the responsibility of the listener to do research.
