Once upon a time, there was a long-running feud between a pack of wolves and a flock of sheep. The wolves were constantly on the lookout for an opportunity, but the sheep were protected by loyal and brave shepherd dogs (Sheepdogs). Whenever the wolves attacked, the dogs would bark to warn everyone and block their path. That was why all the wolves’ plans were failing. 🐺
So the wolves held a meeting and sent one of their “ambassadors” to the sheep, who said in a very innocent and gentle manner:
“Dear sheep! Why do we always have this tension? The truth is that we respect you. The real troublemakers are these shepherd dogs. They bark, show anger and always interfere—that’s why we are forced to ‘retaliate’ and misunderstandings arise. If you get rid of these dogs, we will finally be able to live in permanent peace.” 🤝
The sheep were naive and tired of the daily noise. They thought that perhaps the dogs were too stubborn and that this was the “real reason” for this hostility.
So the sheep demanded that the dogs leave. The dogs were worried and hesitant… but since they no longer trusted them, they left quietly.
As soon as the guard dogs disappeared over the other side of the hill, the wolves threw off their masks.
There was no longer any obstacle, no protection, and no leverage. The sheep were left completely helpless.
The wolf leader said with a sarcastic smile: “Thank you for your cooperation!” Because everything had gone according to his plan.
Lesson: Defense Systems and Trust
Understand the difference between “problem” and “protection”:
The wolves presented the guard dogs (who were the solution) as the root of the trouble. In real life, strict rules and harsh advice are often protecting you more than you realize.
The Cost of Naive Peace:
The peace based on an enemy’s promise is very fragile. True peace comes when you have enough power to make others think twice before crossing your line.
The Logic of Imbalance:
If you give up your only line of defense for the sake of a promise, you have also lost your negotiating power.
The Message: 📩
Never remove your fence just because someone says it “hurts” them.
