There was an old farmer in a village. He had a beautiful horse that he used to work in the fields. One day his horse ran away. The villagers came and said:
“How unfortunate you are!”
The old farmer smiled and said:
“Do you know whether this is unfortunate or fortunate?”
A few days later, the same horse returned, and brought three wild horses with it.
The villagers were surprised and said:
“How fortunate you are!”
The old farmer smiled again:
“Do you know whether this is fortunate or unfortunate?”π€π€
The next day, the farmer’s son was trying to tame one of the wild horses when he fell and broke his leg.
The villagers came again:
“How unfortunate!”
The farmer replied again:
“Do you know?”π€π€
A few weeks later, the king started a war and all the young men of the village were taken to the army. But since the farmer’s son was injured, he survived.
Now the villagers said:
“Really! You have a very good luck!”
The old farmer just smiled. ππ
