Choosing wisely

Choosing wisely

One afternoon, three hungry cockroaches approached a kind-hearted farmer in search of food. Seeing their condition, the farmer lovingly fed them bread and cheese and also gave some food to their families.
While leaving, the farmer said: “My friends! You wander around in search of food every day, I want to give you a permanent job and a secure future.”
The cockroaches asked: “Which job and how much will you get paid?”
The farmer listed the jobs and salaries:
Telling chickens when to eat: Salary $3,000 per month.
Peeling and chopping garlic: Salary $5,000 per month.
Repelling lizards from crops: Salary $4,000 per month.
Entertaining goats with songs and dances: Salary $250 per month.
The first cockroach immediately said: “I will do the garlic job, because it pays the most.”
The second one said: “I will chase away the lizards, it is better than dancing in front of the goats.”
But the third red bag remained silent and thought: “I will do the goat work, even if the salary is low.”
The other two made fun of him, asking why he agreed to such a low salary? But the third red bag remained silent.
The next morning, the work began. Within a few hours, the first and second red bags lost their lives because of their mistake.
The farmer asked the third red bag, “Why did you choose the low-paid job?”
The third red bag replied: “I preferred my life over money. Chickens eat us, garlic is poisonous to us, and lizards are our enemies. Only the goats could not harm us.”
He added: “A high salary is not always a good choice. Life and peace are more valuable than money. What will you do with the money if you are not alive?”
Conclusion: Not everything that glitters is gold and not every great offer is right for you. You should always prioritize your safety and comfort rather than making a decision out of greed.
